Nepal Medical College has appointed Prof. Dr. Modnath Marhatta as its new principal for a three-year term. Kathmandu University selected Dr. Marhatta for this prestigious role, recognizing his extensive experience in medical leadership and academic administration.

Previously serving as the hospital director at Nepal Medical College for three years, Dr. Marhatta brings valuable expertise to his new position.

Appointment Ceremony Highlights:

The appointment ceremony took place with the college’s Chairman, Prof. Dr. Jainuddin Ansari, officially welcoming Dr. Marhatta to his new role as principal. During the event, Prof. Dr. Ansari expressed confidence in Dr. Marhatta’s leadership, anticipating significant contributions to the college’s educational, health, and research sectors. Dr. Ansari emphasized the importance of the principal’s role in coordinating with regulatory bodies, including Kathmandu University and Nepal’s Medical Education Commission, to foster the college’s academic and institutional growth.

In his address, Dr. Marhatta expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead Nepal Medical College and committed to working collaboratively with faculty, department heads, and staff. He emphasized a cooperative approach to fulfilling his responsibilities, highlighting his intent to apply his experiences as a hospital director toward maximizing the college’s development. Dr. Marhatta underscored his commitment to promoting the college’s prestige and advancing its educational and health services.

Managing Director Dr. Sabiha Yasmin extended her best wishes to Dr. Marhatta, pledging full support from the college management in promoting educational excellence. Dr. Yasmin stated that the principal’s role is vital in upholding the college’s reputation and expressed confidence in Dr. Marhatta’s leadership. Extensive Experience and Background:

Dr. Marhatta’s background includes a distinguished career as the head of the Anesthesia Department at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital and previous roles, including Dean at Karnali Academy of Health Sciences. He has also served as Principal at Nepalgunj Medical College, gaining substantial experience in medical education leadership.
