KEC LITE 2024: Crowning Champions & Connecting Job Seekers with Opportunities

The KEC LITE 2024, a two-day inter-college technical exhibition hosted by Kantipur Engineering College, concluded on a high note on 10th Falgun, 2080, awarding winners across various robotics and tech competitions and facilitating connections between job seekers and companies through its KEC Career Connect platform.

The event witnessed fierce competition in Robo-Sumo, Robo-Soccer, Line Following Robot, and Robo Race. Team Destructor emerged victorious in both Robo-Soccer and Robo Race, while The Botminds and Pratibimba took home the trophies for Robo-Sumo and Line Following Robot, respectively.

Hack-a-LITE, the highly anticipated 30-hour hackathon, saw The Kripples from Kathmandu University crowned as the overall winners, bagging a cash prize of Rs. 25,000 and a scholarship worth Rs. 1 lakh for professional training from Evolve IT Hub Nepal.

Team Birendra Multiple Campus from Chitwan impressed with their innovative idea, earning them Rs. 12,500 and a scholarship worth Rs. 1 lakh from Skill Spark.

Team Source Code from Kathmandu University took home Rs. 12,500 for their business-viable product. All three winning teams will receive additional one-on-one mentorship from Nepal Entrepreneurship Hub.

The closing ceremony saw winners of over 25 competitions receive their prizes, while an exhibition showcased more than 40 projects from colleges and schools. KEC Career Connect provided a platform for companies and job seekers to interact, with 23 companies participating, including companies offering walk-in interviews.

KEC LITE 2024 successfully served as a platform for young tech enthusiasts to showcase their skills, network with industry professionals, and explore potential career paths. The event’s focus on innovation and entrepreneurship aligns well with Nepal’s growing tech ecosystem, and its continued success bodes well for the future of the country’s tech talent.
