KFHI and CDPN Delivers Critical Relief to Bhote Koshi Flood Victims in Nuwakot and Rasuwa

Korea Food for the Hungry International (KFHI) and Child Development Program Nepal (CDPN) step up emergency relief efforts for flood and disaster victims in Nuwakot and Rasuwa, distributing essential food, shelter supplies, and educational materials.

Korea Food for the Hungry International (KFHI), in financial partnership with Child Development Program Nepal (CDPN), has scaled up emergency relief and assistance programs for families affected by the recent Bhote Koshi floods and secondary disasters. Ongoing since late August, the joint initiative focuses on delivering vital aid, kitchen utilities, and educational resources to hard-hit communities across Nuwakot and Rasuwa districts.

Major Relief Distribution Highlights

The collaborative response has systematically targeted severely impacted communities, shelter homes, and educational institutions:

Kitchen Utilities in Tupche, Nuwakot (Sept 16, 2026): In coordination with Bidur Municipality, 100 flood-affected families in Tupche received gas cylinders alongside complete kitchen cookware sets to help restore daily household functions.

Helicopter Emergency Air-Drops in Rasuwa: To reach isolated communities in Amachodingmo Rural Municipality where land transport and road networks were severed, relief teams partnered with the World Food Programme (WFP) to airlift essential food items and emergency supplies via helicopter.

Educational Support at Trishuli Secondary School (Sept 21, 2026): Prioritizing child welfare and academic continuity, the program provided stationery packages and sports equipment to approximately 1,000 students in Nuwakot.

Displaced Family Support at Himalayan Academy: For 100 displaced families from Rasuwa currently seeking temporary shelter at the Himalayan Academy in Bidur-Batar, Nuwakot, relief teams delivered comprehensive living kits. Supplies included mattresses, blankets, towels, mosquito nets, T-shirts, slippers, bathing and laundry soaps, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and utility bags. Additionally, 30 school bags filled with educational materials and food items were distributed to school-aged children.
