Lumbini Lions Appoint Nepali Cricket Legend Shakti Gauchan as Consultant Coach For NPL 2024

Lumbini Lions Club, one of the premier cricket franchises, hosted a special event today to officially reveal former Nepali cricket star Shakti Gauchan as the team’s Consultant Coach for the upcoming season of Nepal Premier League (NPL).

The event held at Hilton Kathmandu brought together players, fans, and media members to celebrate the appointment of one of Nepal’s most respected cricketers.

Shakti Gauchan, known for his outstanding contributions to Nepali cricket, brings a wealth of experience to the Lumbini Lions. A former international all-rounder, Gauchan’s career is marked by numerous achievements, including historic performances in ICC World Cricket League matches. His knowledge of the game and his leadership qualities are expected to be invaluable in guiding the Lumbini Lions to new heights in the upcoming season.

Speaking on the appointment, Shakti Gauchan expressed his excitement, “I’m honored to be joining the Lumbini Lions Club as the Consultant Coach. This team has immense potential, and I look forward to working closely with the players and coaching them to help achieve our goals. Lumbini Lions represent the pride and passion of Nepali cricket, and I’m excited to be a part of that journey.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Shakti Gauchan as our Consultant Coach,” said Ishwar GC, Chairman of Lumbini Lions Club. “Shakti has been an inspiration to many young cricketers in Nepal, and his understanding of the game, both on and off the field, will greatly enhance our team’s prospects. His strategic insights will surely provide a competitive edge to our players”, he added.

Paras Khadka, Secretary of CAN, also shared his thoughts on the occasion, saying, “Shakti Gauchan’s appointment is a big step for Lumbini Lions and Nepali cricket. His experience and passion will inspire young players and strengthen the team as they aim for success this season.”

The event featured a ceremonial introduction, where Gauchan was presented with the official team batch. A Q&A session followed, where Gauchan and key team representatives answered questions from the media about the upcoming season, team strategies, and the expectations surrounding this new partnership.
