Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank Limited has successfully distributed educational scholarships to five meritorious students under its institutional corporate social responsibility framework.
Mahalaxmi Bank Awards Scholarships
The national development banking enterprise introduced the funding program to reinforce its long term dedication toward upgrading public academic sectors across multiple provinces.
The banking establishment operates throughout various domestic markets under the central guiding slogan of Strong Bank, Successful Partnership. The latest welfare campaign targets academically outstanding students coming from economically disadvantaged households who are currently pursuing their secondary education inside public community schools.
MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATIONS AND VALUES
The Mahalaxmi Meritorious Student Scholarship program was originally established to honor the memory of the founding chairpersons of various financial institutions that integrated during historical corporate merger phases to create the modern bank entity. The commemorative funds celebrate the corporate legacies of Late Laxman Babu Shrestha, Late Hari Prasad Giri, Late Ashok Shrestha, Late Navaraj Bahadur Singh, and Late Sitaram Prasai.
Under this specialized corporate social responsibility program, each selected recipient is awarded a direct scholarship grant amounting to NPR 50,000. The specific financial package is deployed to cover enrollment fees, textbook costs, and regular stationeries, ensuring that economic hardships do not force talented students to discontinue their academic progression.
RECIPIENT PROFILES AND REGIONAL DISTRIBUTION CENTRES
The financial institution coordinated with local branch networks and community school boards to locate eligible student profiles. The scholarship units were distributed systematically across distinct urban and rural school systems:
- Late Laxman Babu Shrestha Scholarship: Awarded directly to Bipin Budha, a Grade 9 student attending Shree Nandi Secondary School located in Naxal, Kathmandu. The financial grant was jointly presented on July 2, 2026, which translates to Asar 17, 2083, by Rajesh Babu Shrestha, who is the son of the late chairperson, alongside the principal executive officer of the bank through school Principal Geeta Kafle.
- Late Hari Prasad Giri Scholarship: Granted to Anisha Shah, an active student pursuing studies at Shree Nepal Rastriya Secondary School situated in Bhawanipur 8, Birgunj, Parsa. The promotional funding packet was handed over by the sitting Board Director of the bank, Shyam Sundar Rungta.
- Late Navaraj Bahadur Singh Scholarship: Allocated to Gunjan Sunar, a Grade 9 student currently studying at Shree Sharada Secondary School positioned in the far western regional hub of Dhangadhi, Kailali. The distribution ceremony was led by Board Director Sagar Malla.
- Late Ashok Shrestha Scholarship: Presented to Sumina Lamichhane, a Grade 9 student attending Shree Amar Secondary School located within Hetauda, Makwanpur. The financial assistance bundle was delivered via the regional Bagmati Province Head office.

COMMUNITY SUSTAINABILITY AND BUSINESS OVERVIEW
The executive board of the financial organization stated that its specialized corporate social responsibility roadmap is deliberately structured to reduce educational deprivation caused by household poverty. By funding regional public school students, the commercial enterprise builds positive socioeconomic dependencies within its operational territories.
