MBUST Collaborate APF Nepal To Advance Digital Innovation For National Security

In a landmark initiative to strengthen Nepal’s national security framework, the Madan Bhandari University of Science and Technology (MBUST) joined hands with the Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal for a high-level session titled “Application of Digital Technology in Armed Police Force Nepal.”

AI and Digital Transformation: Reshaping Modern Security
Dr. Suresh Manandhar, Honorary Chair of AI at MBUST, delivered a thought-provoking presentation on the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in APF operations. He emphasized that AI can significantly enhance predictive intelligence, enabling proactive threat detection and rapid response.
As security threats evolve—from cyber terrorism to cross-border digital intrusions and large-scale disasters—Dr. Manandhar underscored that AI integration is no longer optional, but essential for operational efficiency and robust national defense.
Following this, Dr. Rajib Subba, PhD, Coordinator of the Digital Technology Program at MBUST, presented on “Leveraging Digital Technology for Armed Police Force Nepal: From Boots on the Ground to Bytes in the Cloud.” His vision outlined a comprehensive digital transformation strategy to strengthen APF’s core mandates, including:
Enhanced border security with real-time surveillance and data analytics
Optimized disaster response through predictive modeling and rapid communication systems
Strengthened internal security via smart monitoring solutions
Revenue protection using advanced data-driven approaches
Dr. Subba emphasized that this digital shift represents a move from traditional methods to a digitally empowered security force capable of addressing the complexities of 21st-century challenges.
