Motorola announced and released a brand new Motorola Moto E (2nd gen) smartphone on February 2015 that comes up with an Android OS v5.0, v5.1 (Lollipop) only XT1527 model that is planned to be upgraded to v6.0 (Marshmallow).
This phone supports GSM/HPSA/LTE network configurations. This phone has a dimension of 129.9 x 66.8 x 12.3 mm (5.11 x 2.63 x 0.48 in) having a thickness of 12.3 mm and weighs about 145 grams. It uses Micro-SIM technology. The display is of 16M colors and has IPS LCD capacities touchscreen.
The screen size is 4.5 inches, and the screen-to-body ratio is 64.3%. The screen resolution is 540 x 960 pixels which is precisely 245 PPI pixel density. It supports multi touch and comes up with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 along with oleo-phobic protection. It has got Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 – 3G model and Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 – LTE model chip-sets and CPU comprises of Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex A7-3G model and Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 -LTE model processors.
The GPU used is Adrenal 302 – 3G model and Adrenal 306 -LTE model. The internal memory available is 8 GB and contains 1GB RAM. It also supports micro SD slot that could be upgraded up to 32 GB(dedicated slot).
The primary camera comprises of a 5 MP, f/2.2, autofocus camera having the features like Geo-tagging, panorama, and HDR. The video quality is 720p@30fps while the secondary camera is a VGA camera. The microphone jack is 3.55mm jack and has got loudspeakers. The WLAN supported are Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and hotpots.

The main disadvantages of this phone are there are Battery not user-replaceable, 3 G model comes with a dated chipset, also no dual-band Wi-Fi and the phone uses 32-bit Android OS despite having a 64-bit CPU.
