Nabil Bank, established as Nepal’s leading private commercial bank, has demonstrated its immense contribution to the national economy by paying over NPR 28.33 billion (NPR 28,33,51,60,000) in income tax since its inception.
According to the official data released by the bank up to the fiscal year 2024/25, Nabil Bank’s tax contribution has shown an impressive and consistent year-on-year growth.
Record-Breaking Tax Contribution in FY 2024/25
While the bank’s tax figures were in the range of a few hundred thousand rupees during its initial years, they have scaled up to billions in recent times. In the Fiscal Year 2024/25 alone, Nabil Bank paid approximately NPR 2.97 billion (NPR 2,97,49,70,000) in income tax. This marks the highest-ever annual tax contribution in the bank’s 42-year history.
Labeled ‘Highest Taxpayer’ Eight Times by the Government
Nabil Bank has consistently secured its position as the top tax-paying financial institution in Nepal. Recognizing this financial transparency and responsibility, the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has honored Nabil Bank with the prestigious ‘Highest Taxpayer’ award for eight different fiscal years.
