Nabil Bank has launched a QR payment service in the Bhairahawa Kanchi Bazaar vegetable/fruit market.
On Monday afternoon, Sandeep Phuyal, director of the Nepal Rastra Bank regional office in Bhairahawa, bought fruit and paid through the QR code, and started the QR payment service of Nabil Bank.
Now, consumers on the market can easily pay for purchased vegetables/fruit through their mobile banking application or mobile wallet, the bank said.
During the inauguration, the director of Nepal Rastra Bank, Bhairahawa Regional Office, inspected various vegetable/fruit shops and started the payment service through the QR code of his mobile banking service.

Nabil Bank launched the QR Code Payment Service in March 2020 to support digital transactions and cashless transactions.
In addition, at the initiative of the Nabil Bank Bhairahawa branch, WorldLink Communications Limited also linked free WiFi in the market area to facilitate payment services.
Currently, the bank has more than 2,000 business establishments providing QR services across the country, which is increasing every day, the bank said.
