NADA AutoShow 2026 Concludes
The NADA Auto Show 2026, Nepal’s largest annual automotive exhibition, concluded its successful six-day event on Sunday at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu.
Organized by the NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal to mark its 50th Golden Jubilee, this landmark 18th edition served as a central hub for new vehicle launches, advanced Electric Vehicle (EV) technology, auto components, and competitive auto financing solutions.
Key Exhibition Highlights and Participation Figures
Held from August 25 to 30 (Bhadra 9 to 14), the event hosted over 200 stalls featuring global automobile manufacturers, local auto component suppliers, tire brands, lubricants, and leading financial institutions.
NADA Auto Show 2026 Breakdown:
-
25 Passenger Vehicle Brands
-
17 Light Commercial Vehicle Brands
-
13 Two-Wheeler Brands
-
15 Banks, Financial Institutions, and Insurance Providers
Next-generation Electric Vehicles (EVs) dominated the exhibition floor. Leading auto brands—including BYD, Tata, Deepal, Nammi, Avatr, Jaecoo, Chery, and Dongfeng—unveiled their latest EV models, cutting-edge battery technology, and locally assembled vehicles for the Nepali market.
Aggressive Auto Loan Rates and EV Financing Options
Automotive financing played a major role at the 2026 event. Commercial banks and financial institutions competed heavily for customer acquisition by offering low interest rates, reduced service fees, and discounted interest rate premiums. Several banks introduced specialized green auto loan schemes specifically tailored for EV buyers.
Overcoming Challenges: Resilience Amid National Disasters
This year’s auto show took place during severe flooding and landslides across major river basins, including Bhotekoshi and Trishuli, which caused significant damage nationwide. Despite the difficult national circumstances, the event proceeded through the combined support of exhibitors, media, and attendees.
Commenting on the event’s continuity, NADA President Surendra Kumar Upreti highlighted the industry’s commitment to national economic mobility.
“Disasters may weaken us, but they cannot weaken our resolve,” stated President Upreti. “The NADA Auto Show is more than a vehicle sales floor—it is a platform to discuss Nepal’s mobility future, showcase technology, and link local industries directly to job creation.”
This edition prioritized the central theme “From Industry to Employment,” focusing on local assembly and employment opportunities within Nepal’s auto trade.
