Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) has published a directory of Nepali scientists and technologists.
Titled ‘Who is Who in Science, Technology, and Innovation of Nepal’, the book has been in the works since March of 2020.
Who are in this book?
The book is a directory of personal details of Nepali scientists and technologists who have done a doctorate in Science and Technology and acquired expertise equivalent to that.
The list includes professionals working at the governmental or non-governmental office in Nepal or abroad.
NAST made the information about publishing the book back in March by asking people to register for the directory.
Why does one need this directory?
According to Vice-Chancellor of Agriculture and Forestry University, Prof. Dr. Sharada Thapaliya, this initiative would give exposure to the expertise of Nepali scientists and technicians living outside of the federal capital city.
It could work as a great platform to represent their individual or collaborative contributions in their fields.
Hon. Prime Minister of Nepal, K P Sharma Oli believes that this database could be instrumental to recognise and engage individuals in different frontiers of national development.
In his message, he thanks NAST for its diligent work and wishes to see more names in revised editions of this book.
How to use the directory?
The pages in the directory contain not more than 2 entries and include some personal information.
Here’s a sample:
All the information in this directory is provided by the scientists and technologists themselves.
Some notable data that you can find in this directory for an individual are:
