National Innovation Center to Manufacture Making Incense Sticks and Toothpicks

The National Innovation Center in collaboration with the Micro, Home, and Small Industries Promotion Center is going to make a machine for producing incense sticks and toothpicks.

On Friday, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Micro, Domestic, and Small Industries Promotion Center and the Innovation Center to study, research, and develop the technology needed to make machines at the Ministry of Industry.

The MoU was signed by the Acting Head of Promotion Center Bishnu Prasad Bhusal and President Mahabir Pun on behalf of the Innovation Center.

An agreement has been reached that the government will help the innovation center to build a machine for the production of incense sticks and toothpicks by the next Baisakh. Industry, Commerce, and Supply Minister Dilendra Prasad Badu was also present at the agreement signing event.

Speaking at the signing event, Minister Badu said that the agreement with the Innovation Center will help the government’s national policy.

He said that there is a national policy to increase the national production of Nepal and increase the consumption of the products as well.

Minister Badu expressed his belief that if production starts from the local level, jobs will be created at the local level. He said that by establishing industries that increase production, jobs will be created at the local level and there will be a big transformation in the employment sector.

Minister Badu said that to increase production at the local level of Nepal, the government has advanced plans for small industries.

He said that he envisioned opening Business Innovation Centers in all seven provinces and said that it would increase the number of enterprises and entrepreneurs.

Chairman of National Innovation Center Mahabir Pun said that the country’s economy will not grow unless the industry and entrepreneurs grow.

He said that the main objective of the National Innovation Center is to increase entrepreneurs.

He said that according to the agreement with the Micro and Small Industries Industry Promotion Center, he plans to make a machine for making incense sticks and toothpicks worth 40 lakh rupees.

He said that it will be spent on making machines such as incense sticks, toothpicks, brooms, bamboo sticks, and other machines. He said that according to the agreement, all work can be done by May of the current financial year.

According to the agreement, the government will provide Rs 40 lakh as a subsidy to the innovation center in the current financial year.
