Speaking at the agreement signing event, CBFIN President Pawan Kumar Golyan informed that CBFIN was established to work for the benefit of not only banks and financial institutions but the entire economy.

He claimed that with the announcement of the CBFIN-NAFIJ Banking Journalism Award, financial journalists will be encouraged to report economic events and topics in a strong, fair, searching, effective and logical manner.

Golyan expressed the hope that a renewable fund could be established to continue the award by strengthening the collaboration with NAFIZ in the future.

On that occasion, NAFIZ President Modnath Dhakal mentioned that the award will play a big role in making journalism competitive and promoting investigative journalism.

Asserting that the role of the media in the economy will support economic growth by creating an environment for investment along with the promotion of the private sector, he said that such awards will play an important role in increasing the quality of news and the competitiveness of journalists.
