Ncell Brings Weather Forecasting Service

Ncell has signed a new agreement with the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM). By contracting with DHM, Ncell aspires to enhance the system of providing pre-information regarding natural calamities and weather forecast.

Bishal Upadhya, Chief Information Officer at Ncell and Dr. Rishiram Sharma, Director General at DHM signed in the agreement.

As per the agreement, for the next five years, Ncell and DHM will provide the facility of pre-information regarding natural calamities. Similarly, both of the offices aim to provide access to this service to the people residing in the place where there is a high risk of flood and landslide.

We are delighted with this contract, even in the difficult times we decided to stay with our customers said Bishal Upadhaya, Chief Information Officer at Ncell.

With that, Ncell has decided to provide a total of 250 sim cards to DHM for operating hydro and meteorological stations. Similarly, for connectivity balance worth 1.5 million will be granted.

As per this agreement, Ncell from now onward will send the message to its customers whenever there is an increase in water level in rivers. The targeted audience for this service is the one dwelling near to the place where there is a high risk of flood and landslide.

Currently, this pre-information system has been implemented in 42 flood risk areas.

Recently, Ncell has launched ‘Letz Go’ app to track public transport. By using this app, public transport users in Kathmandu can follow the vehicle of their root.

Ncell by collaborating with Ram Laxman Innovation has developed a mobile app to track the location of public transport. The app became available to Ncell users from August 24, Friday.
