Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) Contributes NPR 15 Crore for Bhote Koshi Flood Victims, Employees Also Donate Salaries

Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) contributes NPR 15 crore to the PM Disaster Relief Fund for Bhote Koshi flood victims in Rasuwa, alongside employee salary donations.
NTA Contributes NPR 15 Crore
For the relief, rescue, and rehabilitation of citizens affected by the devastating floods in the Bhote Koshi River in Rasuwa, the Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) has announced a major institutional financial contribution.
The authority has officially handed over a total of NPR 15 crore to be deposited into the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.

The financial contribution was formally handed over during a special program held at the Ministry of Finance. In the presence of Minister for Information and Communications Dr. Bikram Timilsina, NTA Chairman Arjun Ghimire presented the check of NPR 15 crore to Minister for Finance Dr. Swarnim Wagle.
Massive damage to human lives, property, and physical infrastructure has been reported in Rasuwa and surrounding areas due to the Bhote Koshi floods. The NTA stated that this institutional contribution was made to immediately provide relief to affected citizens and support the government in the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the disaster-stricken areas during this difficult time.
Voluntary Financial Contributions by Employees and Officials
Alongside the institutional donation, NTA officials and employees have also decided to contribute financially from their personal remuneration. According to NTA Spokesperson Min Prasad Aryal, contributions will be deducted from employee salaries and official meeting allowances to support the relief fund:
Chairman: 10 days of salary and 2 board meeting allowances.
Board Members: Equivalent to 2 days of board meeting allowances.

First-Class Officers: 8 days equal to their starting salary scale.
Second-Class Officers: 6 days of salary.
Third-Class Officers: 4 days of salary.
Support-Level Staff: 2 days of salary.
Non-Classified Staff: 1 day of salary.
High Priority on Maintaining Telecommunication Services
Recognizing that the telecommunication sector is a critical lifeline that must maintain communication links during disasters, the NTA has urged all telecom service providers to extend maximum support in the affected regions. The authority has maintained a strong focus on preventing service disruptions, swiftly restoring damaged telecom infrastructure, and ensuring seamless communication operations in flood-hit zones.
Government bodies, security forces, local levels, the private sector, and various institutions continue to rally support from their respective fields for the rescue, relief, and long-term recovery of the victims of the Bhote Koshi flood.
