Ncell, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative at the provincial level, organized a free health camp in Banaganga Municipality, Ward No. 4, Thakurapur, Kapilvastu, last week. Over 300 individuals visited the camp and received free medical services for various ailments.

The health camp was organized in collaboration with the Nepal Heart Foundation at United National Hospital, Kapilvastu. The main highlight of the health camp was cardiology-related special consultations and tests such as ECG and diabetes screening, along with other expert consultations. Medicines were also distributed for free to those in need.

Health camps help promote preventive healthcare services by providing free screenings and detecting early health issues, if any. This is the second in a series of such health camps in Kapilvastu by Ncell. Two months ago, a similar camp was organized in Mayadevi Rural Municipality, Ward No. 3, Fulika Health Post. The company plans to organize five such health camps in five remote areas of Kapilvastu.

Bishakha Lakshmi Khadka, Head of Corporate Communications and CSR at Ncell, said, “We organized this health camp, or heart camp, as part of our commitment to promoting the healthier well-being of our community because we care for our people. This is a testament that Ncell is here for Nepal and the Nepali people. At Ncell, we always believe in giving back to the community. In line with our commitment of leaving no one behind, we have been organizing social activities at the grassroots level, and activities like these at the provincial level help us connect with the local community.”

Ncell has implemented social development projects across all seven provinces under its CSR/sustainability initiatives. Last year, on its 18th anniversary, Ncell also announced the launch of 18 grants for 18 projects. The selected 18 projects are provided with financial support of Rs. 10 lakh for project implementation, and the projects are being rolled out in all seven provinces.

Since its establishment, Ncell has contributed more than Rs. 2 billion to social projects in various fields, including education, environment, and health. Additionally, Ncell, one of the country’s largest taxpayers, has made a significant contribution to the economy, paying more than NPR 320 billion in taxes and non-tax revenues to the government as of the fiscal year 2023/24.
