Ncell, as a responsible corporate citizen, has been contributing to fostering sports development and nurturing talents in the country (Ncell’s Sports Commitment). The company has supported sports sector such as in cricket, football, golf, and para-athletes participating in different national and international games, among others.
Apart from the ‘Triangular T20i Series 2024’, which concluded today, Ncell also supported as a ‘Connected By’ partner in the recently held ICC League 2 and Nepal-Canada ODI Series. These collaborations were in line with the company’s theme ‘Hamro Saath Nepali Cricket Lai’.
Similarly, under the theme ‘Hamro Saath Nepali Football Lai’, Ncell supported various football events including the Birgunj Gold Cup and Jhapa Gold Cup. In the past, expressing its commitment to supporting sports, Ncell collaborated with the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) for A Division, U-16 football, Women’s National Championship, Women’s National Team, and in cricket, with technical support from the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), Ncell organized the first-ever domestic cricketing event— Ncell Nepal Premiere League.
Ncell’s Sports Commitment
Aligned with ‘Here for You’, Ncell, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), has also been collaborating with the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) to support the national para-athletes’ team. Recognizing Palesha Govardhan’s historic win for Nepal, the first Nepali para-athlete in history to win a medal at the 4th Asian Para Games, Ncell supported Palesha Goverdhan with a cash prize of NPR 100,000 for her individual achievement.
In September last year, on the occasion of its 18th anniversary, Ncell announced its strategic partnership with NPC to support national para-players representing Nepal in national and international games. In line with this partnership, Ncell has been extending its support to ensure the overall training and development of the national players along with providing the required diet and nutrition throughout the year.
Ncell Bahrakhari Golf
Similarly, in golf, aiming to promote golf and tourism and engage in economic and social issues, ‘Ncell Bahrakhari Golf and Beyond’ will be organized in Pokhara from March 14-16, 2024. The Gandaki Province Government and Pokhara Metropolitan City are also associated with this event as co-sponsors. Ncell has been organizing this golf event every year for the past five years in collaboration with Baahrakhari Media. Additionally, in November, Ncell also organized the ‘Ncell Open Golf Tournament’.
Recognizing the importance of sports, Ncell prioritizes its growth and development. Sportspersons are national pride, and collaborations like this hold great value in the development of the sports sector, youth development, and social unity in the country.
