Nepal Clearing House Ltd. (NCHL) has been awarded the South Asian Federation of Accountants Awards (SAFA) 2019 as Second Runner-up for its best presented annual reports under the public sector category. The award has been entitled on the basis of the evaluation of NCHL’s annual report & disclosures related to its financials and corporate governance for the fiscal year 2018/19. The award was handed over today by SAFA in a virtual event organized by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka).
After being awarded the first position at ICAN’s Best Presented Award (BPA) 2019 organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN) this year, the case of NCHL was forwarded by ICAN to SAFA. NCHL was awarded by SAFA with Certificate of Merit in the previous year also and it has improved its performance by being Second Runner-up for this year.
Corporate governance and disclosures are something that NCHL has inherited as its DNA from its promotors including Nepal Rastra Bank and the banks & financial institutions. NCHL believes that it will be key for building trust in the industry and the general public through its principle of transparency, accountability, and security. And through public trust, it is possible to positively impact the development of the digital payments industry.
NCHL has been operating NCHL-ECC, NCHL-IPS, connect-IPS e-payment, connect RTGS National Payments Interface (NPI), and CORPORATEPAY as part of the national payments infrastructure with the participation of almost all BFIs, insurance companies, remittance, merchant banks, PSPs, PSOs, Government & Semi-Government entities and others as indirect/ technical members.
