Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund Collects Nearly Rs 12 Billion for Flood Relief Operation

A total of Rs 11.989796084 billion has been collected in the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund following the devastating Bhotekoshi River flood in Rasuwa on Bhadra 10.

Financial Breakdown and Banking Deposits
The collected funds are currently managed across commercial banking institutions in domestic and foreign currency accounts.
- Commercial Bank Deposits: A sum of Rs 8.788258304 billion is held across accounts in nine commercial banks.
- Foreign Currency Holdings: A total of US 21.143427 million is deposited in foreign currency accounts maintained at two commercial banks.
- Total Fund Pool: Combined contributions in the relief account reach Rs 11.989796084 billion.
Fund Allocation and Operational Deployment
Government bodies have begun disbursing the collected capital to expedite field operations in disaster zones.
- NDRRMA Fund Release: The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has released Rs 1 billion from the fund to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority.
- Utilization Purpose: Disbursed capital is actively supporting immediate relief, rescue, and rehabilitation operations across flood impacted areas.
- Public Mobilization: Contributions continue to arrive from individual donors, corporate bodies, and international organizations following the central government appeal.
