Nepal Eye Program and Partner Contribute Over 13 Million Rupees to Disaster Relief Fund

Nepal Eye Program, Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology (NEP-TIO), alongside its international partner, The Fred Hollows Foundation Australia, has provided financial assistance totaling over 13.1 million rupees to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund to support ongoing disaster recovery and community rehabilitation efforts.

Financial Contribution Breakdown and Official Handover
Institutional Contribution: Nepal Eye Program, Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology contributed 10,100,001 rupees to the fund.
Employee Contribution: All employees of the institute contributed one day worth of salary, adding an additional 851,351 rupees.
International Partner Aid: The Fred Hollows Foundation, Australia contributed 2,181,200 rupees to the relief fund.

Cheque Presentation: Chief Operating Officer Pitambar Adhikari and Chief Financial Officer Ram Chandra Khanal of TIO, along with Anjila Dahal, Nepal Country Representative of The Fred Hollows Foundation, jointly presented the cheque to Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle.
Humanitarian Call and Rehabilitation Focus
Fund Allocation: The joint contributions were deposited directly into the central fund to support ongoing rescue, relief, recovery, and rehabilitation of affected communities.
Unity Appeal: The institutions issued a collective statement encouraging unity, mutual support, and widespread sector cooperation to aid disaster-impacted populations during the crisis.
