Nepal Bank Signs Financing Agreement for Lower Thulokhola Hydropower Project

Nepal Bank Limited has officially executed a credit facility agreement with Chitwan Energy Limited to finance the construction and operation of the Lower Thulokhola Hydropower Project.

The project is promoted by Chitwan Energy Limited to harness hydro energy resources and expand national electricity generation capacity.
The signing ceremony marks a formal partnership between the commercial bank and the project developer to secure necessary capital financing.
Project Capacity and Debt Equity Financing Ratio
The Lower Thulokhola Hydropower Project currently features a designed installed capacity of 4.75 megawatts.
The project promoter has also outlined a proposed capacity expansion plan to increase the total plant output to 6.51 megawatts.
Under the terms of the financial agreement, 70 percent of the total project cost will be funded through term loans and credit facilities provided by Nepal Bank Limited.
The remaining 30 percent of the project investment will be contributed as equity capital directly by the project promoters of Chitwan Energy Limited.
Key Signatories and Official Statements
The credit agreement was formally signed by Tilak Raj Pandey, Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Bank Limited, and Gopal Prasad Niure, Director of Chitwan Energy Limited.
Speaking at the signing program, Chief Executive Officer Pandey expressed gratitude to Chitwan Energy Limited for selecting Nepal Bank Limited as its financial partner.
He expressed strong confidence that the project would achieve financial closure, timely construction, and successful commercial operations.
Director Niure expressed appreciation for the support provided by Nepal Bank Limited and reaffirmed the commitment of Chitwan Energy Limited to completing the hydropower plant within its scheduled timeline.
