Nepal Citizens Bank Anniversary: Free Health Camp & Meal Program + Digital Banking

Citizens Bank International Limited marked its 18th anniversary with a strong focus on community service. The bank organized meal programs for nearly 1,900 homeless and mentally challenged individuals.

This effort ran for 18 days, from April 2 to April 19, in collaboration with Bhotew Indira Social Welfare Society.
Meals were distributed in key areas of Kathmandu. These included Jorpati, Chabahil, Bouddha, Maitidevi, Setopul, Old Baneshwor, Bhimsengola, Battisputali, Sinamangal, and Gaushala. The bank reached people living on sidewalks, under bridges, and near riverbanks.
Free Health Camps Across Provinces
In addition to the meal distribution, the bank organized free health camps from March 15 to April 18. These camps were held in all seven provinces.
In Koshi Province, the camps were set up in Haldibari and Mahendrachowk. In Madhesh Province, they were conducted at Vidyapati Chowk. Budhanilkantha hosted the camp for Bagmati Province. Gandaki Province’s camp was located in Amarpuri. Lumbini Province had its camps in Hospital Line and Jeetpur. Similarly, Karnali Province served patients in Srinagar and Dullu, while Mahendranagar hosted the camp in Sudurpaschim Province.
These health camps benefited around 1,700 people by offering basic medical checkups and consultations.

Recently, the bank achieved a major milestone in digital innovation. In partnership with Fonepay, it launched Nepal’s first-ever virtual credit card called “Citizens Fonepay Credit Card.” This product gives customers a new and secure way to manage transactions online.
Moreover, Citizens Bank became the first bank in Nepal to allow share applications and CRN number requests through its mobile banking app. These services make investing and banking easier for tech-savvy users.
Nationwide Presence and Global Recognition
Citizens Bank has expanded its network widely. It currently serves over 1.879 million customers through 200 branches, 168 ATMs, 3 extended counters, and 74 branchless banking units. These facilities operate across 61 districts of Nepal.
In recognition of its performance, the bank received the prestigious “Bank of the Year 2024” award. This international honor reflects the bank’s excellence in customer service, innovation, and impact.
