With 1,093 out of 1,544 FTTH lines now fully operational, technical teams continue working to restore the remaining connections based on geographic feasibility and local demand. Nepal Telecom Restores FTTH Network
Nepal Telecom (NTC) has completed the first phase of fiber network restoration across Rasuwagadhi, Betrawati, and Trishuli following severe damage caused by devastating flash floods on Bhadra 10. Rapid repair work was initiated immediately after the disaster by deploying technical personnel and resources to restore critical telecom services.
Extent of Flood Damage to Telecom Infrastructure
The severe flooding swept away key telecommunication infrastructure, leading to widespread network disruption across the region:
OLT Units Lost: 2 units (1 in Rasuwagadhi, 1 in Betrawati)
FDCs Destroyed: 5 Fiber Distribution Cabinets (1 in Rasuwagadhi, 1 in Betrawati, 3 in Trishuli)
Fiber Cable Damaged: Approximately 128 km of Aerial Optical Fiber Cable swept away
Total Impacted Users: 1,544 FTTH (Fiber to the Home) lines completely shut down

Current Restoration Status (Phase 1 Completed)
Out of the 1,544 affected FTTH lines, technical teams have successfully reactivated 1,093 lines, marking the completion of Phase 1 operations.
The remaining 451 lines will be brought back online sequentially based on:
