Nepal Telecom Restores Mobile Services in 7 More Flood-Hit Areas; MD Sangeeta Pahadi Inspects Field Sites

In a major push to reconnect disaster-hit communities, Nepal Telecom (NTC) has successfully resumed mobile network services across seven additional locations heavily impacted by recent floods. With these latest restorations, 93 out of the 120 disrupted sites are now fully operational.
The rapid deployment ensures critical communication lines remain active for rescue operations, emergency responders, and families trying to reach their loved ones.
Key Highlights of Nepal Telecom’s Network Restoration
Total Operational Sites: 93 out of 120 affected telecom sites have been successfully brought back online.
Rasuwa District Recovery: Services resumed near the Trishuli 3A Hydropower Project tower, vital for coordinating ongoing rescue efforts inside the project’s tunnel. Network connectivity was also restored in Kalikasthan (Uttargaya Rural Municipality).
Nuwakot District Recovery: BTS towers in Tuptche and Bungtang went live, alongside restored connections in Katunje, Samari Bhanjyang, and Betini.

Logistical Challenges Overcome: Due to severe terrain damage, heavy equipment, generators, and fuel supplies were airlifted via helicopters or transported manually via porters and utility vehicles.
Managing Director Sangeeta Pahadi Visits Flood Zones
To boost the morale of field technicians and accelerate recovery operations, Nepal Telecom Managing Director Sangeeta Pahadi (Aryal) personally traveled to Nuwakot and other affected field locations.
Before her field inspection, MD Pahadi participated in an emergency review meeting at the company’s Disaster Management Cell in Babarmahal.
She also briefed key government officials, including the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, the Chairman of the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA), and security agency representatives on the ongoing restoration progress and technical frameworks.
Ensuring Continuous Connectivity During Crisis
Nepal Telecom has reiterated its commitment to keeping communication channels alive during this critical period. Restoring telecom infrastructure in remote hubs like Rasuwa and Nuwakot ensures that displaced citizens and rescue teams can seamlessly coordinate relief efforts and maintain contact with family members.
