An agreement for the laying of optical fiber was signed between Nepal Telecom and Kathmandu-Terai / Madhesh Fast Track Project. According to the telecom, an agreement was reached on Friday Poush 10,2077 with the provision of laying optical fiber on the expressway under the management of the project and telecom Nepal Army.

The agreement has been signed by Managing Director of Nepal Telecom Dilliram Adhikari and Project Chief Technical Assistant Rathi Bikas Pokharel on behalf of the expressway project.

The agreement stipulates that the necessary infrastructure will be constructed including a contract related to the optical fiber during the construction of the fast track project, which will be constructed in phases in different packages on a relatively short (72.5 km) road connecting the capital with Terai (Madhes).

The financial cost of this work will be borne by Nepal Telecom and the technical supervision of the optical fiber laying work will be continued by the company.

The Nepal Army is constructing the expressway with the aim of completing the construction work by the next fiscal year 2080/81. The 72.5 km long project includes the construction of tunnels in three places and the construction of 10.59 km bridges in different places.
