Classic Diamond, a renowned jewelry brand in Nepal, has officially announced the launch of the fifth season of its prestigious modeling competition, ‘Face of Classic Diamond.’

The announcement was made during a press conference held in Kathmandu, where the Chairman of Classic Diamond, Babu Raja Maherjan, shared details about the upcoming event scheduled for January 18 and 19, 2024.

Competition Details

The ‘Face of Classic Diamond’ competition aims to discover exceptional modeling talent, with the winner receiving a cash prize of NPR 150,000 and the opportunity to serve as the brand ambassador for Classic Diamond for one year. The winner will also have the chance to showcase their talent in Bollywood, further enhancing their career prospects in the fashion industry.

Registration for the competition is open starting today, and contestants are encouraged to apply. Previous winners have successfully established themselves in the Nepali film industry and international fashion events, showcasing the platform’s ability to propel careers forward. For instance, past winners like Samrajni Rajyalakshmi Shah and Anjali Lama have made significant strides in the Nepali cinema and New York Fashion Week, respectively.

Auditions and Training

Auditions will take place in Kathmandu and Pokhara, as confirmed by Amir Maherjan, the Managing Director of Classic Diamond. After the auditions in Nepal, selected models will undergo approximately one month of extensive training. Following this, the top ten contestants will participate in the Classic Diamond Fashion and Jewelry Show, allowing them to gain valuable experience and exposure in the industry.

Additionally, Classic Diamond operates three outlets in the United States and will conduct auditions for Nepali models in America. Two selected models from these auditions will be brought to Nepal to compete in the ‘Face of Classic Diamond’ competition, emphasizing the brand’s commitment to inclusivity and talent recognition.

Prizes and Recognition

The ‘Face of Classic Diamond’ competition will award significant prizes: the winner will receive NPR 150,000, the first runner-up will get NPR 100,000, and the second runner-up will be awarded NPR 50,000. All winners will have the opportunity to engage in various projects with Classic Diamond, enhancing their portfolios and professional experiences.

The grand fashion and jewelry show will take place on January 18 and 19, 2024, in Kathmandu, where winners of the ‘Face of Classic Diamond’ competition will be honored. The event will feature choreography by Bollywood choreographer Rehan Shah, ensuring a captivating and memorable experience for both participants and the audience.

Former Miss Nepal, Malvika Subba, praised the ‘Face of Classic Diamond’ competition for bringing exceptional modeling talent to the forefront in Nepal. She noted that many participants have gone on to achieve success in various national and international beauty contests, including Miss Nepal. Another former Miss Nepal, Asmi Shrestha, expressed her enthusiasm for being part of the competition, highlighting its role in nurturing and refining new talents in the modeling sector.
