Google announced Google Nexus 9 tablet in cooperation with HTC on October 2014 and released it on November 2014. This tablet comes up with an Android OS v5.0 lollipop that is upgradable up to v5.0.1. This tablet supports GSM/HSPA/LTE network configurations and supports nano Sim card.
This tablet has a dimension of 228.2 x 153.7 x 8 mm (8.98 x 6.05 x 0.31 in) and weighs about 425 g for the Wi-Fi model, and the 3G/LTE weighs 436 grams. The display is of 16M colors and has IPS LCD capacities touchscreen. The screen size is 8.9 inches, and the screen-to-body ratio is 73.5%. The screen resolution is 1536 x 2048 pixels which are precisely 281 PPI pixel density.
It comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 Protection. This tablet has a soft back grip and subtle curves and is light and comfortable. The construction is built with a thin brushed, bezel metal sides, unique colors, and clean lines. The design is quite sleek and sturdy. The magnetically attached keyboard enables to type in different angles though it is sold separately.
It supports multi-touch and has got Nvidia Tegra K1 chipset while the CPU comprises of Dual-core 2.3 GHz Denver processor. The GPU used is Kepler DX1. The internal memory available is 16 GB for the wi-fi model and 32 GB for the LTE model it contains 2GB RAM. It does not include any external SD slot.
The primary camera comprises a 8 MP, autofocus, LED flash camera while the secondary camera is 1.6 MP, 720p camera. The features of the primary camera include Geo-tagging, touch focus, and face detection. The microphone jack is 3.55mm and has got HTC Boombox speakers.
The video quality of the camera is 1080p@30fps with stereo sound recording. The WLAN supported are Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, and hotspot. The blue tooth version is 4.1, A2DP, apt-X. GPS technology is A-GPS, GLONASS technology. The USB available is v2.0. It also comes with Gyroscope, Accelerometer and Compass sensors.
The messaging can be performed via SMS(threaded view), MMS, Email, Push Email and IM. The battery used is Li-Po 6700 mAh battery having 720h(3G) standby and 9h 30 min(3G) multimedia talk time. The colors available are Indigo Black, Sand, and Lunar White. The browser is HTML 5. This tablet costs £320.
