Scope and Importance of Insurance: Rajendra Maharjan, Chief of the Nepal Insurance Authority Koshi Province Office, stated that insurance serves as a crucial financial risk management tool and emphasized the need to expand insurance coverage to all citizens.
Types of Insurance Available: Maharjan informed participants that insurance extends beyond life coverage to include protection for homes, agriculture, livestock, and poultry to minimize potential losses from disasters and unforeseen risks.
Consumer Diligence: He advised citizens to thoroughly examine insurance policies, operational rules, and terms and conditions before purchasing any policy, while encouraging students and teachers to promote awareness within their communities.
Perspective from School Leadership: Chintamani Rijal, Principal of Janata Namuna Secondary School, noted that while insurance is essential for family financial security, lack of information continues to cause hesitation among the public.
Savings for Risk Preparation: Responding to queries, Maharjan emphasized building a habit of allocating a portion of income in advance to prepare for future financial uncertainties.
