NIC Asia Bank CSR: Birgunj Library Inauguration for Student Education Resources

NIC Asia Bank has officially inaugurated a library building at Shri Siddhartha Secondary School in Birgunj Metropolitan City-14, Parsa District, located in Madhesh Province.

This library is part of the bank’s ongoing commitment to supporting education through corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects.
The inauguration ceremony took place on Chaitra 12, 2081 (March 25, 2025). The aim is to provide students with better access to educational resources, helping improve the learning environment at the school. NIC Asia Bank worked closely with the school to construct and hand over the library building.

The ceremony was attended by key figures, including Binod Mehta, the Principal of Shri Siddhartha Secondary School, and Amit KC, the Madhesh Province Head of NIC Asia Bank. Other representatives from the school and the bank also participated in the event. Their presence demonstrated strong support for the initiative and the importance of collaboration between the bank and the school.
With the opening of this library, around 1,500 students and teachers at the school will directly benefit. The library will provide them with a dedicated space for study and access to a wide range of educational materials. This will enhance their learning experience and support their academic development.
Earlier Library Projects by NIC Asia Bank
NIC Asia Bank has previously funded the construction of several library buildings across different provinces in Nepal. Some of these include:

These libraries are already operational, benefiting more than 11,000 students across these schools. The bank’s ongoing efforts aim to support education and contribute to the development of these communities.
Budget and Expected Impact
To construct these libraries, NIC Asia Bank allocated a total of NPR 20.53 million (2 crores 5 lakh 30 thousand rupees). The bank believes that these libraries will have a significant positive impact on the students. With better access to books and learning materials, students will improve their academic performance.
