The event’s welcome speech was delivered by Mr. Dhruva Kumar Shrestha, the 9th Annual General Meeting of the Nepal Italy Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Acting Chairman.  “We are grateful for Italy’s contribution in the field of reconstruction of the cultural, material, and historical heritage of Nepal,” he said in his speech. “We believe that this co-operation will remain as a long-lasting symbol of friendship between our two countries.”

Consular relations between Nepal and Italy have been established for almost six and a half decades.

The two countries established diplomatic relations on August 31, 1959. During this time, the two countries’ relationship has been smooth, and trade business has been significant. The Nepal-Italy Chamber of Commerce was established to further strengthen the country’s economic relationship.

The program recognized people and organizations that had made significant contributions to Nepal’s and Italy’s economies. Mr. Rajeshkaji Shrestha, a prestigious honorary member of the Nepal Italy Chamber of Commerce, received a special honor.

In a similar vein, Mr. Vinod Sagatani received recognition as the best importer between Nepal and Italy. Mr. Raju Shrestha received a prize for being the best exporter of Nepalese goods to Italy.

The Nepal Italy Chamber of Commerce recognized Mr. Sarbottam Lal Shrestha, Managing Director of Peace International Tour and Travels, for his contribution to the tourism industry in bringing the most visitors from Italy to Nepal.

The Fire and Ice Pizzeria was awarded as the best investor.

Either directly or indirectly, Italy has been helping Nepal with its development. The Italian government and people have increased their aid to Nepal, especially since the country’s transition to democracy in

Similarly to that, the victims of the devastating earthquake in 2015 received a sizable amount of Italian aid. By promoting bilateral trade, the Nepal Italy Chamber hopes to draw Italian investment and boost the number of Italian tourists visiting Nepal.

Friendship, shared interests, and amity are the foundations of the relationship between Nepal and Italy.
