NLG Insurance Conducts Agriculture and Livestock Insurance Awareness Program in Salyan
5th June 2026, Kathmandu
NLG Insurance Company Limited’s Salyan Branch successfully conducted an impactful agriculture and livestock insurance awareness and interaction program in Bagchaur Municipality Ward No 7.
NLG Insurance Awareness Program
This vital event took place on Wednesday at the ward office. It brought together local farmers and key stakeholders to discuss how insurance can completely transform risk management in farming.
Breaking Down the Benefits of Agricultural Insurance
The main goal of the program was to increase insurance coverage among traditional and modern farmers. Salyan Branch Chief Anurag Bohara highlighted the ongoing efforts of NLG Insurance to expand awareness by reaching farmers directly in villages and communities.
Bohara shared that this community campaign is already showing positive results. More farmers are expressing deep interest in protecting their agricultural investments through formal insurance policies.
Farming is highly unpredictable. Agriculture and livestock insurance play a crucial role in financial security. It provides a reliable safety net that helps families recover from devastating losses caused by unforeseen events.
Strong Support from Local Leadership
Bagchaur Municipality Ward No 7 Chairperson Prem Bahadur Dangi attended the event as the chief guest. He strongly urged all participants to share this valuable knowledge within their communities. He encouraged more families to adopt modern insurance services immediately.
Dangi noted that insurance provides critical financial support during natural disasters and sudden disease outbreaks. These risks can significantly affect agricultural production and livestock farming if you are left unprotected.
The interactive program provided detailed information on specific agriculture and livestock insurance provisions. Experts explained the exact claim settlement procedures and the required documentation needed to access benefits. Attendees learned about excellent coverage options for food crops, vegetables, fruits, and livestock.
Digital Innovation and Huge Government Subsidies
The process of securing a policy is now easier than ever. Participants were informed that all insurance-related processes can be completed through online systems. This digital approach makes the entire service transparent, efficient, and user-friendly for busy farmers. You no longer need to spend days traveling to offices to complete paperwork.
Even better news was shared regarding the total cost of these policies. Bohara informed attendees that the Nepal Government continues to provide an incredible 80 percent premium subsidy for agriculture and livestock insurance.
This means the government pays the vast majority of your insurance cost. Farmers only need to pay a tiny fraction of the total premium to secure their entire livelihood against potential risks.
Building Financial Resilience Across Nepal
A total of 78 farmers and local stakeholders from different communities within Ward No 7 actively participated in this event. The attendees described the session as highly informative, practical, and beneficial for their daily operations.
The successful program was facilitated smoothly by Bharat Rokaya. Several influential figures were present to show their support, including Livestock Health Officer Tek Bahadur Basnet, Ward Members Dil Bahadur Oli and Damodar Oli, Ward Secretary Krishna Kandel, and Ward Livestock Technician Lalit Khadka.
NLG Insurance Business Coordinator Sunil Shrestha stated that the company is actively organizing these vital insurance awareness programs in various districts and municipalities across Nepal. Their ultimate goal is to promote agricultural insurance and strengthen the financial resilience of farmers nationwide.
