Nepal Telecommunication Authority is going to install an ‘International Call Monitoring System‘ after trying to cancel the tender for connecting this system which was stalled for a long time.

The Supreme Court decided to continue the procurement process through the old process. The procurement process of such a system has progressed through international competition for ‘Revenue Assurance’, Fraud Detection, and Quality Assurance.

According to this, ‘International Call Monitoring System probes, customized drives, test equipment, and its accessories are going to be purchased.

However, it was discussed that the price of the imported equipment was questionable and that the customs administration had requested to investigate it.

In a statement, the authority said that according to the Public Procurement Act 2063, Public Procurement Regulations 2064 and the Standard Bidding Document issued by the Public Procurement Monitoring Office, technical and financial proposals have been requested from the selected institutions.

According to the statement of the authority, after the decision of the Supreme Court, an agreement was signed with Vanrise Solutions Sal Offshore, Lebanon, to acquire and purchase more services, software, and equipment than what was proposed according to the new technology.

“Equipment not available in the Nepali market and special types of equipment that can only be used in this project is also going to be brought.” the authority said.
