This update eliminates the need to visit physical counters, providing a more convenient and hassle-free experience for users.
What is eSIM?
eSIM, or embedded SIM, is a digital SIM that allows users to connect to mobile networks without needing a physical SIM card. This means that compatible smartphones can use cellular services directly via the eSIM profile, making it more flexible and modern compared to traditional SIM cards.
No More Counter Visits
Before this, customers had to visit Nepal Telecom’s customer service centers to request an eSIM. However, the new system allows customers to apply online, making the entire process quicker and more accessible. All users need is their phone number, an OTP for verification, and a few personal details to complete the process.
Simple Process for eSIM Activation
Log in via App or Website: Users need to open the NTC mobile app or visit the official NTC website.
Submit Details: After entering your phone number, you’ll receive an OTP. Enter the OTP to verify your details and proceed.
Upload Documents: Upload a photo of your citizenship card (front and back), and a selfie with your ID.
Activate eSIM: Once the details are verified, a QR code for eSIM activation will be sent, allowing you to start using the service immediately.
Affordable and Easy to Switch
Switching from a physical SIM to an eSIM is simple and inexpensive. NTC charges only 50 Nepali rupees for the conversion. If you are getting a new eSIM, the cost is 140 Nepali rupees, which includes the activation fee and a new eSIM profile. This small fee will be deducted from your balance, making the process smooth.
Benefits of eSIM Technology
eSIM technology eliminates the need to swap physical SIM cards. Users can easily manage their mobile numbers and services without physical limitations. Plus, if you ever want to switch operators, the process is as easy as updating the digital profile.
Are You Ready for eSIM?
To get an eSIM, make sure your mobile phone supports the technology. After applying for the service online, it may take up to 10 minutes for activation.
NTC’s Commitment to Digital Innovation
By offering online access to eSIM services, Nepal Telecom continues its efforts to digitize its services and offer a modern, user-friendly experience. This new service makes it easier for customers to enjoy the benefits of digital technology without the need for physical visits.
NTC’s introduction of eSIM through digital channels is a significant step towards enhancing convenience for all users in Nepal.
