NTC Expands 4G Badimalika Bajura: Mobile Service Launched at 4200m

Nepal Telecom has officially launched 2G and 4G mobile services in Badimalika, one of the most revered religious and tourist destinations in Sudurpashchim Province.

Situated in the Bajura district at an altitude of approximately 4,200 meters above sea level, the high-altitude zone now enjoys high-speed voice and internet coverage.

Overcoming Geographical Challenges

Deploying telecommunication infrastructure in such a remote and rugged terrain presented severe logistical hurdles. To execute the installation, Nepal Telecom mobilized a specialized technical team and partnered with the Nepalese Army to transport heavy equipment and infrastructure components via helicopter.

Engineers and technicians worked through extreme high-altitude conditions to construct and operationalize the cell tower.

Key Coverage Areas

The newly activated mobile network substantially improves connectivity across several remote communities and transit routes:

Triveni Municipality: Wards 5 and 6

Badimalika Municipality: Wards 5 and 6

Trekking Routes: Prominent sites along the trail from Bajura’s district headquarters, Martadi, to Badimalika—including the famous Triveni Patan.

Technical Execution Team

The successful setup and commissioning of the tower were led by key Nepal Telecom personnel, including:
