Finding Common Ground: Open National Campaign Launched for AI Era in Nepal
27th October 2026, Kathmandu
A broad national campaign titled ‘Finding a Common Path for Nepal in the Era of AI’ has been launched under the leadership of Saurav Raj Panta.
Aiming to build a broad national consensus for Nepal’s sovereign interests, geopolitical reality, and long-term prosperity, a landmark open campaign titled “Finding a Common Path for Nepal in the Era of AI” has officially been launched.
The national campaign seeks to align Nepal’s geographical reality and evolving international dynamics with cutting-edge technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) to address national priorities.
Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration and Dialogue
The initiative brings together key actors from political parties, academia, the private sector, civil society, Gen-Z youth, and the global Nepalese diaspora to foster inclusive dialogue and collaborative action. By bridging local needs with international expertise, especially leveraging the knowledge and skills of non-resident Nepalese, the campaign aims to chart a resilient roadmap for the future.
Campaign Coordinator Saurav Raj Panta emphasized the pressing need for nationwide synergy in light of global technological shifts.
“A comprehensive national consensus is vital for Nepal’s future. Recognizing our geographical reality, shifting global dynamics, and the transformative impact of AI, we must bring all stakeholders into a shared dialogue. Finding a common path grounded in facts, experience, and diverse perspectives with national interest at the core is the primary objective of this initiative,” stated Panta.
Integrating AI with Governance, Education, and Development
Rather than treating technology in isolation, the campaign integrates AI and digital infrastructure into core socioeconomic sectors including education, job creation, good governance, public service delivery, and inclusive development.
Furthermore, it advocates for constructive debate on foreign relations and development priorities, ensuring that Nepal’s strategic autonomy, national dignity, and long-term sovereignty remain uncompromised.
Respecting Diversity for a Sustainable Future
Designed as a non-partisan and inclusive movement, the initiative respects Nepal’s rich geographical, social, economic, and cultural diversity. It emphasizes fact-based discussions, open-mindedness toward differing perspectives, and constructive collaboration.
Moving forward, the campaign will host structured dialogues and interactive sessions to identify practical options for technology-driven growth, policy reform, and a shared national vision for Nepal.
