OPPO, a smart device company that started 11 years ago with the first “Smiley Face” smartphone, has since been keen to provide the users with sophisticated yet aesthetically pleasing devices. OPPO has come up with yet another smartphone to add in its Reno Series to look and extend the users’ creativity beyond the typical boundaries. The Reno 2F model was launched amidst an event at New Road, where the ambassador of OPPO Nepal actress Swastima Khadka gifted signed devices to the visitors.

Here’s a review of the OPPO Reno 2F with hands-on experiences of the device.

The OPPO Reno 2F is full of features that will enhance the photography experience of smartphones. It comes with a quad-camera configuration that is comprised of a 48 MP ultra-clear primary lens, an 8 MP wide-angle lens, a 2 MP mono lens, and a  2 MP portrait lens. The prime lens has an aperture of F1.79 added with the ½.25-inched sensor. The rear camera configuration hosts enough technology itself to allow users to discover new perspectives.

Video Technology:

The mono and depth sensor is defined to portrait photography and the bokeh effect in videos. The bokeh effect in videos looks organic and works as intended in the right light situations. However, it requires polishing to recognize faces in low light cases. Talking of small light imaging, the smartphone has an ultra night-mode that enhances a dim-lit frame by extending the exposure time to catch details.

Pop-up Selfie Camera

The selfie camera is finally placed at a place it needed to be in. It is at the center of devices, so users get natural photos. The RGB atmosphere light is also well maintained by OPPO and hence provides various moods to be included in the selfies.

Display

Oppo Reno2 F Corning Gorilla Glass 5

The 19.5:9 panoramic screen comes with a 2340 x 1080 resolution added with the 91.1 % screen-to-body ratio, this display will provide comfortable browsing, gaming, and multimedia experience. The screen is large, with 6.5-inches of pure AMOLED Panoramic Screen built with the 5th Generation Corning Gorilla Glass that makes the screen highly resistant.

Users who are night-owls too have benefits coming from the OPPO Reno 2F. Both the low brightness flicker-free mode and night shield mode relieves eye tiredness. The phone’s display is perfect for day or night use, and the most remarkable thing about it is, users with sensitive eyes towards light strobes won’t have a problem while using this device.

Battery

Oppo Reno2 F Battery

With more and more games coming into the market, devices need to be powerful enough to handle the workload. OPPO has addressed the battery demands quite well in the Reno 2F. The handset is powered by a 4000 mAh (Typ) battery that is suitable to be charged even while playing games. The Reno 2F also comes with an AI Refrigerator that freezes apps that are not being used and helps preserve more energy, thus improving battery life. The VOOC Flash Charge 3.0 with a VFC fast charging algorithm is capable of increasing the speed of trickle-charging up to 51 % in 30 minutes. So, users won’t need to play games at half charge anymore.

Faster Fingerprint unlocking

With new faster Hidden Fingerprint Unlock 3.0, OPPO is making fingerprint-unlocking technology even safer. The illumination of the unlock area is now 16% brighter while opening speed is over 11% faster when the screen is on, offering significant improvements over the previous generation.

For this, we’ve used brighter scanning that’s more suitable for optical fingerprint lenses, and this ups the quality of the captured image. Its use of more light filters in the sensor can better distinguish real fingers from fake, based on how human skin and non-living objects absorb and reflect light.

CPU and Storage

The interior of the phone is as amazing as the external body. Reno 2F comes with a powerful MTK Helio P70 CPU backed up with an 8 GB RAM chip and 128 GB ROM. The upgraded 2.1 GHZ processor with the MTK Helio P70 chip turbocharges the performance of Reno 2F and provides a fluid experience. The phone is highly optimized and covers all the basics needed for a smartphone in today’s era.

The sound quality is enhanced by the Dolby Atmos experience and added features like Link Boost, Game Boost 2.0; OPPO Share won’t let the performance be any short of amazing.

Other Features to look at:

  • Link Boost
  • Game Boost 2.0
