According to the unaudited fourth quarter financial report, Panchakanya Mai Hydropower recorded a net profit of 6.68 crore Nepali Rupees in fiscal year 2082/83.
In comparison, the company had posted a net loss of 6.86 crore Nepali Rupees during fiscal year 2081/82.
Steady Increase in Electricity Sales Drives Revenue Recovery
The main driver behind the financial recovery of the company was a solid growth in energy sales revenue.
Panchakanya Mai Hydropower generated 34.71 crore Nepali Rupees from electricity sales in fiscal year 2082/83.
This represents an increase of 18.43 percent compared to the electricity sales revenue of 29.31 crore Nepali Rupees earned in the previous fiscal year.
Higher power generation and consistent supply to the national grid helped boost top line earnings and improve profitability.
Per Share Financial Indicators and Capital Structure
The return to net profit positively impacted key per share financial metrics for shareholders.

Reserve Fund Deficit Narrowing

The reserve fund remains in negative territory at negative 18.27 crore Nepali Rupees.
However, the accumulated reserve deficit narrowed substantially compared to the preceding fiscal year, reflecting a gradual recovery in balance sheet health.
Technical Disruptions and Operational Challenges
The financial turnaround was achieved despite notable operational hurdles during the fiscal year.
Energy generation at the Upper Mai Power Plant experienced temporary disruption due to technical issues from Baisakh 7 to Ashadh 8, 2083 BS.
In addition to technical downtime, the company faced challenges related to a shortage of skilled manpower and seasonal risks associated with the monsoon season.
