Engineer Pankaj Jalan has received the National ICT Excellence Award 2022.
On National ICT Day, the government presented Jalan with the National ICT Excellence Award, which included a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh.
After recognizing the need for IT education, Pankaj Jalan founded an IT college in Nepal 23 years ago.
He began digging for IT education in 1998 through the Lord Buddha Education Foundation. This college has produced over 10,000 IT professionals.
Jalan has played a significant role in extending the reach of digital literacy to all to realize the late founder Parmananda Kejriwal’s dream.
So far, more than 10,000 women have received computer training under his direction. Similarly, the college provides scholarships for IT education to hundreds of students in collaboration with various organizations such as the CAN Federation and the Nepal Chamber of Commerce.
Patan College for Professional Studies was founded under Jalan’s leadership to provide IT education accustomed to quality and modern technology. In Janakpur, Akshar Vidya Mandir operates as a smart school.
In just one year, he established Janaki College for Professional Studies to offer a Bachelor of Technical Education in Information Technology course collaborating with Kathmandu University. Similarly, under his direction, AIM-based Ezach tools have been developed.
He has made significant contributions in the social sector and IT education over 23 years. He is the founding president of the International Association of Education Providers and has held key positions in the Chamber of Commerce and the CAN. Many organizations have also recognized him for his contributions in this field.
