Narendra Dev Bhatta Elected President of PATA Nepal Chapter at 51st Anniversary

PATA Nepal Chapter has elected a new Executive Committee headed by Narendra Dev Bhatta, Managing Director of Heritage Tours & Travels, during its 51st Anniversary and Annual General Meeting.

PATA Nepal Chapter President 

Romi Aryal, Managing Director of Square Hotel, was elected as General Secretary, while Prakash Chandra Lohani, Chairman of Alpine Rescue Service, was elected as Treasurer. The newly elected executive leadership comprises representatives from both private tourism enterprises and ex-officio public sector institutions.

The newly formed Executive Committee brings together leaders across various hospitality, airline, and travel sectors.

• Executive Officers: Narendra Dev Bhatta (President), Romi Aryal (General Secretary), and Prakash Chandra Lohani (Treasurer).
• Board Members: Bijaya Shrestha (Vice President, Himalaya Airlines), Suman Ghimire (Executive Director, Jungle Safari Lodge), Sunil Bahadur Bhattarai (Executive Director, Busy Bee Cafe), Maya Shakya (Director, Park Village Hotel & Resort), Sarita Lama (Managing Director, Off The Wall Trekking), Siddhartha Bikram Thapa (Managing Director, Marcopolo Travels), and Basu Dev Dhungana (Managing Director, Banabas Chitwan).
• Governance Structure: Ex-officio public sector representatives also hold designated seats on the board alongside private sector members.
• Strategic Commitment: Newly elected President Narendra Dev Bhatta pledged to focus on Nepal’s tourism recovery, support crisis-affected destinations and communities, and unify industry stakeholders.

Tourism Awards and Industry Leadership Remarks

The event recognized key international and local figures for their contributions during crisis recovery and tourism promotion.

• Special Recognition: Seven individuals were honored for their outstanding contributions to Nepal’s tourism sector and rescue efforts during the Bhote Koshi flood crisis: Prof. Arnold Dix, Captain Priya Adhikari, André Lüthi, Dylan Dugas, Rajendra Dawadi, Bikram Karki, and Choy Teh.
• Immediate Past President Address: Outgoing President Khem Lakai emphasized multi-stakeholder collaboration for rapid industry recovery and sustainable development.
• Parliamentary Support: Sumnima Udas, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on International Relations and Tourism, stressed the need for seamless coordination between the public and private sectors to drive tourism revitalization.
