Petroleum Imports Through Kakarbhitta Cross Rs. 24.50 Billion in One Year

Petroleum products worth Rs. 24.50 billion were imported through the Kakarbhitta Customs Office during the fiscal year 2082/83, according to official customs data.
Petroleum Imports Through Kakarbhitta
The imports comprised three primary petroleum products, with petrol accounting for the largest share:
- Petrol: Rs. 12.18 billion
- Diesel: Rs. 9.55 billion
- Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG): Rs. 2.77 billion
Year-On-Year Growth In Fuel Import Value
Customs data revealed a notable rise in petroleum imports compared to the previous fiscal year FY 2081/82, during which imports through the Kakarbhitta entry point were recorded as follows:
- Petrol (FY 2081/82): Rs. 8.92 billion
- Diesel (FY 2081/82): Rs. 7.03 billion
Substantial Customs Revenue Generated For Government
Kakarbhitta Customs Office Chief Shivalal Nyaupane confirmed that petroleum imports contributed significantly to government revenue collection throughout the fiscal year.
