PPMO Blacklists 21 Companies Nepal
Decision to Blacklist
On December 2 (Mangsir 17), the PPMO finalized its decision to blacklist these companies. They are now barred from participating in public procurement processes. This measure aims to promote accountability and ensure adherence to rules in government contracts.
Reasons for the Blacklisting
The affected companies were found guilty of multiple violations. These include:
- Failing to follow the Public Procurement Act, 2006, and related regulations.
- Delaying projects and missing deadlines.
- Ignoring contract terms and standards.
- Committing severe errors during project execution.
Relevant authorities recommended the blacklist after detailed reviews of their actions.
Impact of the Decision
The ban is effective immediately. For a period ranging from one to three years, these companies cannot:
- Bid for any public contracts.
- Supply goods or services to government projects.
- Sign agreements with public entities.
This exclusion is a direct response to their misconduct.
Focus on Accountability
By blacklisting non-compliant companies, the PPMO aims to enforce discipline in public procurement. This step ensures timely project delivery, safeguards public funds, and sets a precedent for better governance.
Such measures highlight the government’s commitment to maintaining transparency and efficiency in the execution of public projects.
