Cyber Security International has conducted 25th essential Cyber Security Awareness Program at Metro Vibes Pvt Ltd. (www.metrotarkari.com), a promising IT company at Sanepa, Lalitpur.

Manisha Ranabhat, August 10, 2015 – Dr. Ramhari Subedi, chief executive officer of CSI started the presentation with a small introduction about IT evolution with the following explanation about development in capabilities of attackers to carry out complicated attacks with few knowledge and resources.

Today the main threat of information breach is from internal stakeholders slightly from hackers or cyber terrorist. So the organization must simultaneously improve their defenses against these threats and increase their knowledge about possible cyber threats. Dr. Subedi then explained about the importance of security requirement in an e-mail account.

Continuing the presentation Mr. Chiranjibi Adhikari spoke on topics such as malware, ransomware, network security, advantage and disadvantage of social network and need for the awareness program. Since social media is the primary source of cybercrimes in Nepal, he highlighted the need to be aware of what should/should not be shared online or through social media. Everyone must be knowledgeable about the possible consequences of ignoring these measures. Twelve staffs have participated in this program. The session was more effective in informing crews about cybersecurity. They also expressed willingness to organize a few more meetings from CSI Nepa in future, the participants express their happiness and give hot thanks to CSI Nepal.
