Ramesh Dhital has been unanimously elected President of the Pravasi Nepali Manch, Canada Chapter. The new executive committee was formed during the fourth convention held on Saturday.

According to Ravindra Raj Ghimire, the election committee secretary, other key appointments include Madan Adhikari as Vice President, Sandip Paudel as Secretary, and Krishna Parajuli and Bimala Karki as Deputy Secretaries.

The newly elected committee consists of 25 members. The elected members include Lok Gurung, KP Pant, Sudarshan Adhikari, Sujan Khatriwada, Rajan Paija, Durga KC, Arbin Paudel, Raju Bhattarai, Rinku Bhattarai, Prakash Dhakal, Dinesh Bista, Mahesh Bista, Sudarshan Sapkota, Suresh Bhattarai, Himal Aryal, Tara Lamichhane, and Uddhim Neupane.

The inauguration ceremony featured several distinguished guests. Chief Guest Prabhuram Thapa, a Secretariat Member and America Region In-Charge of Pravasi Nepali Manch International Committee, delivered a speech, along with Special Guests Kunti Thapa, a member of the Women’s Department, and Janaki Karki, Deputy Chief of the Department.

Other attendees who extended their congratulations and best wishes included Abhimanyu Basnet, Co-Treasurer of NRNA ICC; Ramesh Thapa, Advisor Coordinator and former President of Pravasi Nepali Manch Canada; Hemraj Pandey, an NRNA ICC member; KP Nirola, Chairman of GP Foundation; Suresh Gautam, Chairman of NBDI; social worker Sita Sangraula; NRNA Canada Vice President Kiroj Shrestha; Chanda Adhikari, General Secretary of NRNA Canada; Dinesh Khatriwada, President of NCNCC; Dr. Thamanath Adhikari, Chairperson of NCCS; Bhumiraj Ghimire, President of Nepal House; Kedar Basnet, Chairperson of PNCC; Lila Bhandari, President of NCHC; Rabindra Lamsal, President of TNSC; Netra Bhattarai, President of NPRC; Dr. Purna Kandel, a businessman; Hari Bhusal from the Chitwan Society; and Anil Thapa, former President of NRNA Canada and a radio host.

The event also had arrangements for virtual participation via Zoom to accommodate members who could not attend in person due to geographical limitations. Notable attendees via Zoom included Bhuvan Kharel, a member of the NRNA ICC and Pravasi Nepali Manch International Committee’s Investment Promotion Department from British Columbia; along with Raju Bhattarai, Sandip Paudel, Arbin Pokhrel, and Rinku Wagle from Alberta.

The program, chaired by outgoing President Bishwambhar Ghimire, opened with a welcome address by Vice President Bednidhi Gautam.
