The wait is finally over! Xiaomi Nepal has finally launched the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max in Nepal at a reasonable price after already launching all the phones in the Redmi 9 lineup.

Imagine Note 9 Pro and then aim higher. The Pro Max version is simply bigger, better, and faster in all terms.

Let’s take a dive into the specs and features of the newly released Redmi Note 9 Pro Max.

Redmi Note 9 Pro Max Overview

Design and Display

The Redmi Note 9 series is impressing a wide range of audiences with its eye-catching colors and the Note 9 Pro Max is no less. It has a glass back finish and a massive 6.67-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels.

The punch hole cutout on the top middle houses the selfie camera. It has a 60Hz refresh rate which is lower than that on its competitor, the Realme 6 Pro.

When you take a look at the back, you’ll notice a quad-camera setup placed in a square-shaped module. There’s also an LED flash that resides just below the square module. Meanwhile, the Note 9 Pro Max has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Camera

Now, let’s get familiar with the sensors on the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. The quad-camera setup on this smartphone beats that on the Note 9 Pro in terms of resolution.

It has a 64MP primary lens with an f/1.89 aperture. Accompanying it are – an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with a 119-degree FOV, a 5MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. The macro camera is a clear winner in terms of resolution compared to other phones at this price range.

4K Video recording is possible at 30fps for the rear camera and for the selfie shooter, it’s 1080p@30fps. Shooting modes and features include Pro Color, Night Mode, and RAW photography.

On the front, you get a 32MP selfie camera that comes with AI portrait mode.

Performance and Memory

Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC, the Note 9 Pro Max has a capable processor and can handle daily tasks pretty well. However, the Realme 6 Pro also has the same SoC.

That’s another reason why the Note 9 Pro Max might get an upper-edge in the Nepalese market since the Realme 6 Pro hasn’t yet released in Nepal (as of August 10, 2020).

Moreover, the device comes with an option of 6GB and 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Even though both variants will get a 128GB of internal storage, the 6GB variant also comes with a separate 64GB option.

Overall, the smartphone gives smooth performance while gaming and multitasking.

Battery and Others

In comparison to other phones in its price range, the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max is a bit bulky. The reason behind the bulk is its monstrous 5020mAh battery.

Furthermore, the phone supports 33W fast charging.

The device also comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack and IR blaster which is not a surprise. Also, the support for 2 x 2 MIMO for WiFi is said to reduce lags while gaming and running heavy tasks.
