Samsung announced and released Samsung Galaxy J7 smartphone on June 2015 that comes up with an Android OS v5.1 Lollipop up-gradable to v5.1.1. This phone supports GSM /HPSA/ LTE network configurations. This phone has a dimension of 152.2 x 78.7 x 7.5 mm (5.99 x 3.10 x 0.30 in) having thickness 7.5mm and weighs about 171 grams. It uses Single SIM (Micro-SIM) or Dual SIM (Micro-SIM, dual stand-by) technology. The display is of 16M colors and has Super AMOLED capacities touchscreen.
The screen size is 5.5 inches, and the screen-to-body ratio is 69.6%. The screen resolution is 720 x 1280 pixels which are precisely 267 PPI pixel density. It supports multi-touch and has got Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 and Exynos 7580 Octa chipset, and CPU comprises of Quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 & quad-core 1.0 GHz Cortex-A53 and Octa-core 1.5 GHz processors. The GPU used is Adreno 405 and Mali-T720MP2. The internal memory available is 16 GB, and it contains 1.5 GB RAM. It supports micro SD slot up-gradable up to 128 GB (dedicated slot).
The primary camera comprises of a 13 MP, f/1.9, 28 mm, autofocus, LED flash camera while secondary comprises of 5 MP, f/2.2, 23mm, LED flash and Auto HDR camera. The video feature is, 1080p@30fps, 720p @120fps, and HDR. The primary camera features include geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, and panorama mode. The microphone jack is 3.55mm and has got stereo loudspeakers. The WLAN supported are Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct and hotspot. The Bluetooth version is 4.1, A2DP.
It also comes with NFC connection but only with the Snapdragon model. It also comes with FM radio with RDS. The USB available is v2.0 micro USB with USB Host. It also comes with Fingerprint, accelerator and proximity sensors. The messaging can be performed via MMS, SMS threaded view, IM, Email and Push mail. The GPS technology is A-GPS, GLONASS. The browser is HTML5.
The battery used is Non-removable Li-Po 3000 mAH battery that gives up to 18 h (3G)standby talk time and music play up to 76 h battery life while the endurance rating is 91h. The colors available are White, Black and Gold. The available models are J700F (India, Thailand); J700M (LATAM); J700H with no LTE (South Africa, Pakistan, Vietnam). The main disadvantages are that the design was tire stretched and a bit thin on the 5.5″ screen also No fingerprint, no NFC on some models and certainly no Samsung Pay as well as No MHL (but USB OTG is supported).
