SmartChoice Technologies (SCT), the pioneer in card business industry has conducted launching ceremony for innovative product and services on September 18, 2019, at Aloft, Thamel with the presence of chief guest Mr. Chintamani Siwakoti, Deputy Governor at Nepal Rastra Bank.
On occasion, Mr. Devi Prakash Bhattachan the chairperson has launched contactless-Debit and Prepaid (domestic & international) card for as a new product with the collaboration of UnionPay International. Further, he also announced the interoperability of different payment service provider (QPAY, Prabhu Pay and IME Pay) to launch UnionPay standard QRC payment, compatible with the EMVCo specifications, as a value-added service.
From the past fifteen years, SCT is a leader in the field of electronic payment & plastic cards. This is a fact that it is first of its kind to launch a shared switching network to interoperate financial transactions between different financial institution ranging from class a to class c.In the past few years company has also provided value-added services like E-commerce & M-commerce to its customer.
In the year 2015 SCT has tied up with Union Pay International to extend its card services within the country & outside the country. The SCT has first certified Payment Card Industry, Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) certification for payment system in Nepal. Furthermore, it has also been awarded Payment Service Operator license from the central bank of Nepal (Nepal Rastra Bank). The company significant stakeholders include Prabhu group, IME group & Himalayan Bank with the paid-up capital of Nrs. 250 millions.
