SDN and CNF Donate NPR 10 Million to Prime Minister Relief Fund for Bhote Koshi Flood Victims

Social Development Nepal (SDN) and Changunarayan Foundation (CNF) have jointly contributed NPR 10 million to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund.

The fund is donated to support reconstruction and relief efforts in flood-affected regions.
Relief Contribution Details and Handover Event
The financial contribution aims to assist communities in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading that suffered extensive damage to life and infrastructure following the Bhote Koshi River floods on August 26, 2026.
- Donation Handover: Mani Raj Khatri, Chairman of the Changunarayan Foundation, formally presented the cheque for NPR 10 million to Minister for Education Sasmit Pokharel on Thursday.
- Partner Organizations: The aid is provided jointly by Social Development Nepal (SDN), The Netherlands, and the Changunarayan Foundation (CNF).
- Target Relief Areas: Support will be focused on disaster response, reconstruction, and infrastructure recovery in the Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading districts.
Psychosocial Support Programs and Future Commitments
In addition to direct financial assistance, the partner organizations are launching targeted emergency psychosocial support initiatives in designated disaster-affected zones.
- Specialized Intervention: Launching an emergency psychosocial program titled Healing Through Art and Resilience in selected communities across Rasuwa.
- Target Beneficiaries: The program uses art-based activities to deliver emotional and psychological support to students, teachers, and community members.
- Strategic Commitment: Both organizations pledged ongoing collaboration with government agencies and local authorities to foster sustainable development, disaster response, and long-term community resilience.
