CSITAN-Chitwan organized a special event for the celebration of the 14th Software Freedom Day in collaboration with FOSS Chitwan. FOSS community is a team of volunteers belonging to various organizations, colleges, and universities that believe in the use of Free/Open Source Software. They also organize campaigns and events to make people aware of Free/Open Softwares along with their benefits.

Open Source enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, representative of all IT Companies of Chitwan were the attendees of the program. The program was distributed in 5 main sections where the first part was welcoming the guests and starting the formal program by Mr Arun. Project demonstration and game development demonstration was the next part of the event.

Idea Challenge was also organized where participants presented their extraordinary ideas to the jury and the attendees. The last part was the award ceremony where the organizers awarded the best view/idea from the Idea Challenge.

CSIT-Chitwan also provided a Certificate of Appreciation to all the presenters and Supporting Partners and Token of Love to all the Sponsors who helped them to organize the program successfully. CSITAN-Chitwan also appreciated the effort of all the participants and volunteers for making SFD-2017 a grand event.

Software Freedom Day celebrates the usage of Free Software all around the world with the aim of increasing awareness of Free/Open Source Software and encouraging its use. This day is celebrated every year on the third Saturday of September, with several programs and training being organized by various local and international communities all across the globe.
