The Government of Nepal and the Confederation of Nepalese Industries have reached an agreement for conducting the ‘Make in Nepal (Indigenous’) campaign.
‘Make in Nepal (indigenous’)
The ‘Make in Nepal’ campaign is designed to transform the country into a world trade hub. It includes attractive offers for local and foreign companies.
This campaign can focus on creating valuable and respectable employment. It provides skill enhancement in almost every field to improve the condition of the youth of the country.
Agreement Between the Government and Confederation for the Implementation
The Government of Nepal offers its strong support and partnership in implementing this campaign launched by the Confederation.
The campaign’s objective is to promote the production, consumption, and export of indigenous goods and services.
This campaign and understanding will prove to be a cornerstone for developing Nepal as a self-reliant, self-reliant, and export-oriented economy.
Now, the Government of Nepal and the Confederation of Nepalese Industries should move forward by shouldering their responsibilities efficiently.
Now the private sector has to work to achieve that.
The campaign will make a significant contribution to the production and promotion of Nepali goods. Nepal now needs to produce its own products and promote them.
The Confederation is confident that this campaign will help it.
The agreement would further help in achieving the goals of the Indigenous Campaign. It would further support the promotion of the production and consumption of indigenous goods.
This campaign is launched to increase the production, promotion, and consumption of Nepali goods and services and export them to the world market.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli launches the campaign on 24th Falgun 2077.
The main objectives of this campaign are to help build a self-reliant economy by increasing Nepali production, encouraging Nepali consumers to consume indigenous products, and increasing the availability of Nepali goods and services in the world market by marketing Nepali products.
Also, the objective is to create adequate employment opportunities within the country and help achieve the national aspiration of a prosperous Nepal, a happy Nepal.
A logo is identified to be used in Nepali goods and services to further this campaign.
The logo proposed by the Confederation of Nepalese Industries has been forwarded by the Government of Nepal by certain criteria and procedures so that all Nepali products can use it.
An understanding has been reached pointing out the need for the government and the private sector to move forward in a coordinated manner to make this campaign a success in making Nepali goods and services globally and increasing its indigenous consumption.
This campaign cannot be meaningful without competing on the quality, quantity, and price of Nepali products.
It is necessary to increase the quality of goods and services, increase production considering market demand and export potential, and produce and promote price competitive goods and services by reducing production cost.
As per the understanding, Make in Nepal (indigenous logo) will be jointly monitored in coordination with the Department of Industry and the Confederation.
Similarly, in the coordination of Nepal and the Confederation, the campaign’s effectiveness will be evaluated and modified, and improved accordingly.
The work will be taken forward by forming a steering committee and performance committee to make the campaign effective.
