Social Security Fund now Payable from Khalti Digital Wallet

Khalti Digital Wallet, in collaboration with Social Security Fund (SSF), now has made it possible for employees and employers of both government and private offices to pay SSF funds directly from the Khalti app. Khalti has introduced this service in its application to digitize every payment method in Nepal.

The arrangement was implemented after an agreement between Mr. Jonaam Bhurtel, an Assistant Manager of Khalti Digital Wallet, and Mr. Kapilmani Gyawali, an Executive Director of Social Security Fund (SSF). This service has made it easier for both employees and employers of private and government offices. They can deposit their own or their employees’ to the SSF from Khalti without any hassle. The amount has to be paid by the 15th of every month. In case the employee claims from SSF when they haven’t made the payment, the organization has to pay a fine of a certain amount.

Speaking about the agreement, Khalti Digital Wallet’s Assistant Manager, Mr. Jonaam Burtel shared, “Along with technological advancement, we (Khalti) are enhancing our online payment system to serve our customers better in Nepal. Now, employees do not necessarily have to physically be available at the office or banks to deposit their funds. Especially, amidst COVID-19, the service has eased people to make contactless payment. The organizations affiliated to the Social Security Fund can directly make payment from home using Khalti”.

Likewise, the SSF’s Executive Director, Kapilmani Gyawali shared, “We are very thankful to be able to provide this facility to all the employees living across the country. This service has helped to enhance the prestige of both Khalti Digital Wallet and Social Security fund. Without the technical and management team’s hard work, this service would not be possible. Therefore, I would like to thank the entire team from the bottom of my heart”.

Khalti Digital Wallet, established in 2017, is a popular Digital Wallet and Payment Gateway in Nepal. Currently, it has more than 1.7 million active users throughout the country. From Khalti, users can recharge their phone, TV, pay their internet bill, insurance premiums, Government Revenues, Waste Management Bills, buy domestic flight tickets, and many more. Khalti digital has aided to save its users time and money by providing faster services and exciting cashback. It can be downloaded from Khalti.com/app.
